What's in real estate for me?

For many people, real estate is not something they have experience with, or deal on daily basis. It is, however, a land of big opportunities: real estate costs a lot and often carries personal value, and selling or buying real estate is often a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Dealing with real estate in Germany is a complicated process with lots of steps, paperwork, arrangements, and mediation. We believe that technology can make the painfully long process better and faster, and we work to make it happen!

What have we done so far?

  • built up four independent cross-functional teams. We are proud of our people and want them to develop and grow
  • built an interactive map of rental and sell prices for properties, spanning the whole Germany
  • built state-of-the-art Machine Learning-powered valuation/appraisal solutions to determine how much a property can be sold for
  • built custom CRMs to support and streamline daily operations
  • automated creation of PDFs documents that are a major part of the selling flow

What can you expect on the tech side of things?

  • build, lead and grow an exceptional team of engineers according to our company values
  • develop an understanding of our business in order to drive technical innovation
  • know what your team is working on and put them in the best position to succeed
  • provide growth opportunities by coaching and mentoring your team members and providing strong leadership, inspiration, thoughtful guidance and giving frequent feedback.
  • connect the engineering organisation closely with the product team and their stakeholders to increase alignment and buy-in from idea through execution to delivery
  • participate in product & technology discussions and advocate to improve our engineering practices, processes and productivity
  • become an active member of our leadership team

What skills and knowledge you need / we need you to bring:

We are looking for an analytical communicator, with high standards and empathy to empower our frontend team. You should apply if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience working in software engineering
  • 2+ years of experience of engineering leadership, including hiring and managing teams
  • a strong knowledge of JavaScript or Ruby development patterns and methodologies as well as an interest in development workflows and how to apply and improve them
  • experience in balancing business related and technical requirements and regularly achieve consensus amongst other teams and departments
  • a proven track of working in a user experience focused and cross-functional environment
