Im Gespräch mit Andrea Tovar

Im Interview berichtet uns Andrea Tovar, wie sie zu Homeday gekommen ist und welche Aufgaben sie im Unternehmen hat.

Who are you and since when do you live and work in Berlin?

My name is Andrea and I am a User Interface/User Experience Designer at Homeday.
I am originally from Mexico City. I left my country 4 years ago and I moved to Berlin a year ago when Homeday offered me this amazing opportunity.
Before starting at Homeday I lived in the Czech Republic, Egypt and Japan where I also worked as a UI/UX Designer.

How did you find out about Homeday and what are your tasks here?

The first time I heard about Homeday was when a Headhunter contacted me and offered me a job. So I decided to send my portfolio to Homeday. Once the HR team contacted me it was an immediate match, and when I was asked to come to the office, I felt like home.

I am in charge of creating several digital products (web Apps) for our own in-house users as well as for our end customers.
The most popular one is our Preisatlas, a tool where people can check the rental and selling prices for houses and apartments everywhere in Germany.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

What I enjoy most working at Homeday are the day to day challenges that come with my job. Designing an app goes further than just having a nice looking app or having the best font. It is about creating solutions to problems, while bringing to life delightful experiences. As a designer you have to think of the needs the users don't know yet.
The main goal is to built quality products that make our users trust us and prefer us over any other company out there.

How do you prefer to spend your free time?

I love going to the cinema as well as drinking a good coffee in a good coffee shop.
Also, I like to have a walk around the beautiful parks, going to museums, reading books and like all of us, Netflix and chill!
I also like spending time going to workshops and meetups, where I can leverage my skills and get to know other designers.
